I love the holidays so much, but hate that it goes by so fast. Year after year I swear it speeds up, so every December I do my best to fit it in!
We were invited to a few holiday parties this year, so I wanted to find a pretty black holiday cocktail dress that I could wear more than once and that wouldn’t be so trendy that it would be out of style by next year. That’s when I found this A.L.C. Elvie Short Sleeve Skinny Dress at Nordstrom! I love its simplicity, elegance and timeless shape and length, as well as the modern vibe from the puffed sleeves (my favourite) and square neckline.
Square necklines are flattering regardless of your bust size as they accentuate your collarbone, an inherently feminine part of your body. I also love that square necklines create a blank canvas when it comes to accessorising, so you can wear short or long necklaces and choose sparkly studs or large earrings depending on your dress style. I chose to keep it simple with these awesome chunky heels from Saint Laurent, a sparkly bag, and a classic red lip!
This dress is an investment, but like I said, it’s so classic and timeless that it can be worn for many seasons and you can style it differently each time you wear it. You’ll find yourself both elegant and modern when you shop at Nordstrom!
